Born in Lima, Manuela Barrios began studying flamenco dance and classical ballet at 14 years old . At 19 she moved to Seville to continue her studies with flamenco teachers like Manolo Marín, Juan de los Reyes, Andrés Peña, Andrés Marín, Pilar Ogalla, among others.
During four years she studied at the "Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco", obtaining the excellence degree with teachers like Milagros Menjibar, Jose Galvan, Rafael Campallo, Carmen Ledesma, Ursula Lopez, Ruben Olmo and Javier Barón.
She has worked in several countries like Spain, Peru, Japan, Russia, Morocco, among others. She has participated in the company "La Cuadra de Sevilla" directed by Salvador Tavora in the show "Flamenco Para Traviata".
She has also worked in various tablaos, like the prestigious Barcelona tablao "El Cordobés" in several ocassions, and in "El Flamenco" of Tokyo.
She has shared the stage with renowned artists including Milagros Mengibar, El Mistela, Carmen Ledesma, Calixto Sanchez, Niño de Pura, among others.

Currently Manuela teaches at the "Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco", where she gives lessons of technique of bata de cola and mantón, foot technique and overall technical compass to advanced, basic, and intermediate levels, and works in the tablao The Andalusian Dog of Seville.
